Alicia H. Brauns

Alicia H. Brauns is the third daughter of Dr. Brauns, whose interest in photography influenced her passion for the entertainment industry. She started shooting and cutting together super 8 films at the age of 14. In 1982, Alicia shot super 8 film in Dachau and Lithuania and intends to incorporate her images in this film.
Alicia received her BA degree from Chapman College, majoring in mass media communications - emphasis on film and TV. Her education in France, England, Switzerland and global travels contributed greatly to her passion for filmmaking. Alicia has over 34 years of experience in feature films, commercials, music videos, episodic TV and sitcoms.
Alicia completed an inspiring documentary, HUMMINGBIRD MAGIC, winning best Documentary Short at the 2009 Washougal Film Festival and the Special Jury Award at the 2009 Yosemite Film Festival.
Alicia recently co-directed and co-produced TAKE ME HOME HUEY, a documentary about the journey of a Medevac helicopter shot down during the Vietnam war, as it is resurrected and transformed into colorful sculpture by artist Steve Maloney. As the iconic Huey 174 morphs from wounded war bird into vivid sculpture, viewers witness the power of art to heal surviving soldiers and families of the fallen.
TAKE ME HOME HUEY won the Best Documentary Feature Mercedes Benz Audience Award at the 2017 Palm Springs International Film Festival. TAKE ME HOME HUEY Documentary Film was broadcasted with PBS SoCal, and with 357 public television stations throughout 2017-2018. In 2017, TAKE ME HOME HUEY won an LA Emmy Award in the Arts category and a Telly Award for TV Social Responsibility Programing 2018.
Alicia’s life mission is to complete THE MOSAIC OF LIFE film and documentary series to tell her father’s story so she can continue to bring positive impact, energy and inspiration to audiences of all ages.
